Ecommerce Business Storbie Set To Expand Its Virtual Marketplace
A Wellington e-commerce business is expanding into the New Zealand market, with plans for international expansion.
Storbie, a “do it yourself” e-commerce website, was founded in 2006 by former Microsoft consultant Shane Bartle after he got requests from friends to build them an online shop.
The business now has 100,000 products for sale across all Storbie online stores, which ranged from Wellington hospital to charities, to a Fortune 500 company.
Storbie director Chris Benham said the owners wanted to accelerate growth but it was not just funds they were looking for.
“In the next six months we will look for smart investors who can assist as we go into international markets.”
The expansion would also see more staff employed to support its growth, he said.
Earlier this month the business, which is owned by five shareholders and employs four other staff, was named as a Deloitte Fast 50 Wellington Rising star to watch.
